His directing career began over two summers with The American Gothic Performing Arts Festival in Ottumwa, Iowa where he directed The Light in the Piazza, Cinderella, and Newsies featuring local, Chicago, and Broadway talent.

In Chicago, he assisted with directing Merrily We Roll Along with Blank Theatre Company and provided musical staging for Assassins at Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre.

With a long history in theatre and dance, and a degree in Acting, Grant’s style of directing is always actor first and movement based.
